Questions people actually ask

How do I start?

With a free 30-minute phone conversation. We talk about what's going on and give you an honest answer about whether this is likely to help. No charge, no obligation.

Do I need a diagnosis or a referral?
No. Many people come without either.

What happens at the assessment?
A thorough look at your history, your health, your sleep, your sensitivities and your goals, including a detailed symptom review. It shapes how your sessions are paced.

What does it cost?

Individual sessions are $225. The 10-session Foundation is $1,799 — about $180 per session — and includes a customized remedy. Oberon scans are $75 and Natural Bioenergetics is $125 an hour. Full pricing is published.

Do you take insurance?
We're a private-pay practice and don't file claims. We can provide a superbill so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement yourself. Reimbursement isn't guaranteed — call your plan and ask before assuming either way.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Many clients do. Check with your plan administrator.

Is there a payment plan?
Yes — three payments of $625 for the 10-session Foundation.

How many will I need?

The initial series is ten. That's a foundation rather than a finish line — at or near session ten we review progress together and decide honestly what, if anything, comes next. There's no automatic requirement to buy another series.

How quickly will I notice something?
It varies a great deal. Some people notice changes early; others take considerably longer, and some notice little. What tends to change first is recovery speed — how quickly you settle after stress — rather than mood.

How often are sessions?
Usually once or twice a week at first. For sensitive systems we often go slower.

Is it safe?

It's generally well tolerated. Temporary effects can occur — fatigue, vivid dreams, headache, feeling briefly overstimulated. We have a whole page on this, including who should be cautious and when to call us.

Will I feel anything?
Most people feel nothing during the session itself. Many find it deeply relaxing and some fall asleep.

Is it FDA approved?
No — and be cautious of anyone who says it is. The equipment falls under the FDA's Class II biofeedback device classification, and biofeedback devices indicated for relaxation training and muscle re-education are exempt from FDA premarket notification. That's a different thing from approval.

Can I do this alongside medication or therapy?
Yes, and many people do. Don't stop a prescribed medication because of changes you notice here — talk to the prescriber.

Do you work with children?

Yes.

Will my child sit still for it?
Usually, because nothing is asked of them. There's no task, no game to win and nothing to fail at. Most children watch something or simply rest.

Is this a replacement for an evaluation or an IEP?
No. This is complementary support and doesn't replace developmental evaluation, school services, or your pediatrician. If your child hasn't had a full evaluation, that comes first.

How long is a session?

Plan for about an hour, including time to settle and talk.

What should I do afterward?
Keep it gentle for the rest of the day — rest, hydration, a light walk if it feels good. Avoid stacking other nervous-system techniques the same day.

What's your cancellation policy?
24 hours' notice, please. Short-notice cancellations and missed appointments may incur a $75 fee; real emergencies are handled individually.
